Day
two at Milan Fashion Week brought spectacular shows from Gucci and
Moschino, as well as collection presentations from Annakiki, Alberta
Ferretti and N°21. Designers signed up a host of star models to showcase
their latest collections, which channeled diverse inspirations. There
were notable appearances from Bella and Gigi Hadid, plus Kaia Gerber,
who opened several shows.
In
recent seasons, Alessandro Michele has been sure to cause a buzz in
Milan when presenting new Gucci collections. This season proved no
exception, with the label taking guests into an operating theater -- a
creative laboratory brimming with ideas and inspirations. "Gucci
Cyborgs" trod the runway modeling a collection mixing styles and matched
with offbeat accessories, including severed heads and dragons.
Next
stop the airport for the Moschino show, under the creative directorship
of Jeremy Scott. Once again, the American designer brought fun and
fashion together with style, showing silhouettes inspired by flight
attendants, as well as the iconic style of Jackie O. Looks seemed
straight out of the 1960s, although skillfully updated with a multitude
of modern -- sometimes futuristic -- details and accessories.
